Midlife Crisis?

Now, I’m only 33, which I don’t recon is all that old so why therefore am I getting urges to do loads of crazy things and also worrying that I’m not making enough of a difference to the world? In the last few weeks I’ve been thinking about doing a parachute jump, buying a motorbike and learning to fly. I’d like to do all those things, and whilst I’m at it quit my job and go full time with a band or be a record producer. However some of the things on my list seem a tad unreachable.
Perhaps another worrying sign is that I’ve finally started Stephen Coveys “the 8th habbit” and I’m actually enjoying it. It does make you realise that there might be more to managing people than sending emails all day long. Ah well, back to flight simulator if I can clear enough space amidst the pizza boxes to place my joystick, if the kids hav’nt broken it. Aghh…..

Progress

130 messages recieved yesterday, so no improvment yet. But it’s early days.

still around

Hey!

Still here. I’ve been manic busy preparing the computer and associated equipment for New Wine, where I am on the radio team. It’s mad busy, but it starts on 22nd July, so hopefully after that my life will return to normality (as if!). Hang in there….

Still no internet…

Still internetless (if thats a word!).
Will update when I have connectivity.
I also made up a new word which is a “stupidiot” (stew – pid – e – ot). It’s a cross between silly , stupid and idiot!
Can anyone tell me what the word is for when you do that kind of thing (joining words together)
I know it has something to do with “ism” but dont know what.

Sorry… Lack of updates…

Major appologies. I am working flat out to complete my 30,000 words. The absoloute drop dead date is this Friday (21st Oct) so I am working well hard.
Hopefully it will all be over soon, and I can do some more updating here!

15,218 to go

11 days left, and now almost 2000 words down! If you could graph that progress I bet it sill wouldnt be fast enough, but at least there is some progress. Not that I have done much else. I still need to produce those pictures of the kitchen, but I also need to do loads more writing. I am hoping that on Thursday I can get my head down and break the 20K barier (inserting lots of good references along the way). We will see

17,100 words to go.

Ok.
It’s time for a last push on the MSc front. With 12 days left there are still 17,100 words to write on the old MSc dissertation. This could account for why it has been a little quiet on the blog font for a while. However, I am going to try and upload all the kitchen pics, plus new ones to the gallery (honest) so that you can see all the latest progress.
There is only the drive and some pebble-dashing left to do, which is good. There is no money left, which is bad :-(

Diary of Home Improvement: Day 55
Such a lot has happened. More roof, rooms being finished, kitchens being chosen. There are loads of problems still and bits needing to be done, the main one being the plumbing! However, I hope to sort at least part of that out very soon (in fact if I don’t it will all be very bad indeed)
The kitchen, appliances, worktops and appliances have all been ordered and should be here very shortly. I can’t tell you too much, because there is still lots for me to sort out. However, things are hopefully moving towards a fitting of tiles and kitchen next week! Yay.
Here are some pics, but they are old now. Will try and post another update and take more pictures tomorrow.

OOPS ERROR! Pics stuck in camera, will put batterys on charge.

Diary of Home Improvement: Day 44

Building work continues a pace! In fact the pace surprises me with it’s fastness. The electrician man was here today and must have worked his socks off, because it seems there is enough cable in the new build to circumnavigate the world. There are some smart things made of metal to run the cables down the wall, and I assume that you plaster over them? Good job I budgeted extra for some electrical work because I think I am over my quota for switches, lights and sockets. Here is an example of some electrical handiwork.

that’s not to say that the builders haven’t been busy as well. I hear rumors that boarding up? Might start on Monday. It’s tricky to get all you decisions correct, when you haven’t got the kitchen plans back yet. Also, I need to get the plumbers and kitchen fitters (problem there…) ready if this pace is kept up. The roof is now as good as finished and stuff which I presume is to keep air in the roof has been put on, as well as some board stuff (see below)….

It’s all well exciting.
