What a splendid evening I partook of last night. Fine cuisine of the Mexican variety and company of the highest order. Settlers was an excellent stratergy game, which once you grappled with the rules was great fun. A hexigan type game board is layed out which is different every time.
Basically you try and build cities, settlements and roads by obtaining certain resource cards. But its much more than that. It has been cleverly designed so that it is difficult to win and also so that your initial stratergy plays a big part in the game.
Here is some information and stratergy tips.
Here is where you can buy it, and also 5-6 player extension sets and loads of other things.
Also spent some time listing to a cool american artist by the name of John Mayer. I think futher checkage out will be needed there.
Big thanks to Marsha and Dave for being such wonderful hosts!

Finger recovered
Exciting news is that the super new vac has been recieved. Its a super duper Dyson and I couldnt resist giving it a try out on the office carpet (where is sucked up a supprising amount of dust). I believe that Dyson will be releasing a super vac which can actually robotically move around and do the vac’ing for you, but its a lot more money than mine!
Another great feature is all the bits you can unclip and clip back on again, which is always good fun.
This weekend is a staggy stag weekend in York so looking forward to this very much.
Off now for Mexican food and an evening of some kind of Strategic game play (Settlers board game??? not sure)

My fingers hurt! I was playing the bass last night and went a bit too crazy, now my finger is all shiny!
Did some more of timehunt yesterday, took about an hour to solve the sliding block puzzle on the sun bit, only to find out that it doesn’t matter anyway and is just a practice for whats to come! Never mind then.

Found a great puzzle site called Time Hunt. I have been playing on a site called NetRiddle for a bit, but this has come to an unsolvable end, which is very annoying. However, this time hunt looks as though it could take up your entire life!

Dont you just love meetings? I do!. In case you cant work it out *IM BEING SARCASTIC*. Had a church meeting tonight, and as usual it was people moaning and no action. A proper meeting has actions coming from it. Its no wonder that churches can’t attract people any more. Being a Christian is about living in a certain way, showing love and compassion to the people around you etc. etc. However, people who don’t go to church do that anyway, and plus they get a much better service on the God Channel or Songs of Praise.
OK. Rant over. Good points about the day were the handing in of my MSc work, which marks a significant milestone and the fixing of my PC’s fan at work, which not only was good fun, but showcased the talents of Mr Chris Rigby, PC fixer extrodinaire.
Still looking for a digital camera…
Listning to Weird Al tonight. Bizzare and refreshing.

Went to see the magician “Geffory Durram” last night. It was a really great show. How he managed to produce a bowling ball at the start of the show I will never know! All of the tricks were great, and its good to see him on a one man show, able to keep the audience attentive for a good hour and a half.
Also spent some fun (sic) time at work compiling a project to hand in on monday. It was so nice to see work again (deaply sarcastic) looking forward to a full week there next week!
Its the London marathon today. Brings back some memories of running it last year, although it was in nicer weather conditions. Once you’ve run it you earn a new respect for those taking part, just glad that I dont have to experience the portaloos again!

“Were all going to the zoo yesterday”..
A fun day was had at the excellent “Dalton in Furness Zoo”. Fed some Lemurs, saw lots of different animals and had a great time. The weather was rubbish and rained a lot and I saw my friend Emily out of her natural habitat! However we also had three lovely children to go round with which was great fun. My fave bit was going on the train.
This is a peacock which sat still for a picture by the cafe!
I would recoment the wild animal park to anyone, it has some great animals and is really serious about conservation. You can find out more here
Have some more pics from Nicola in Australia. Use the link on the left side to get to them!

*sigh* the holidays. Off work for a whole week, what could be better than relaxing with nothing to do except put your feet up. MY MISTAKE, there seems to be a billion jobs to do and I am spending my time tiling, grouting, gardening, tidying and a million and one other things. Still I am going on an exciting trip to the zoo tomorrow with some friends so things are looking up. Been listinging to athlete and will young which were both easter presents in the dixon household. I really like athlete and look forward to a new relase soon. I was not to sure that Will Young would be my cup of tea, but after a couple of listens I find that its a really great album. Check it out, perhaps.here

Fatness! It comes to us all. Well it comes to me at least. 13 stone 10 pounds is way too much for me. I also have loads of Easter eggs to eat, which is no helping much. I really need to do some exercise and eat better, but easier said than done. I did wonder about the atkins diet, but Emma is not keen on it. Went to the Dog and Partrage in Bare for a sunday roast yesterday, it was really nice food for only £4.75, would recommend it. The church was full for Easter with a baptism and some people having to sit upstairs!
Played rook and drank a bottle of “Chatau neuf de pap” (spelling!) which was nice but not £11 worth in my opinion. Rook is a great game, from America I think and kinda like bridge, great for playing with friends.

Went to a very exciting Good Friday get together thing yesterday. It was for central church building fund and it wsa good fun. I won quite a few tombola prizes, but got beaten by Dave F on both the golf chipping and driving (computer) games
Also there was a picture quizz, which was quite hard, especially as no-one knew who shely, of corry’s real name was.
Overall a lot of money was raised so thats a great thing.
My experiment to make some onion soup has been largley a faliure. It is all think and gloopy and tastes not that good, I think I will throw some of it away
I used this recipie, but I guess its not the recipie’s fault.
