Minature Railways..
Apr 29th
Had a really nice day today with the family at cinderbarrow (nr Carnforth) picnic site and minature railway. It’s run by an engineering society and steam trains (three today) run round a quite long track round the picnic area. There is no charge, and you can go round as many times as you like. James loved it and it was a really nice trip out.
In a world where you dont get anything for nothing it’s a really splended thing to find.
There are some pictures in the gallery.
God pod

A mate recommended the above podcast to me, and I’ve been catching up on it. Interesting if you like your theological discussion. Not if not.
On itunes or from here.
Aura..
Apr 26th
I’ve been doing a lot of reading, including the excellent travels by Michael Crichton. He has some interesting views including a very scientific explaination of auras.
I figure if they are there then I’ll be able to see them with a bit of training. And if not, nothing lost. I feel that many of my christian friends might see this as a bit dodgy, but I’m treating it as an experiment.
First technique is to get some reading material, so I’ve got this.
And now I’m training my eyes which is going well.
I’ll let you know. Can all that christian art be wrong?
I’ve also got future plans for spoon bending
Songs suitable for 14 year olds, focusing on environment?
Apr 26th
I’m playing for encounter on Sunday which is targetted at 14 year olds. Rather than 100% Christian songs I thought it would be nice to do a pop song. Problem, dont know what 14 year olds know. I thought of MJ’s earth song or heal the world, but someone pointed out that they wont know that! Help…
A foolish decision..
Apr 21st
I’ve decided that I need to learn the keyboard solo from Van Halens “Jump”. Don’t know why I need too, but it’s just one of those crazy things. I also wonder if there are any other keyboard solo classics that I need to learn? Hmm…..
Important Question..
Apr 12th
If a person dies at exactly midnight then which day did they die on?
This came up becuse someone I know (not very well) died very close to midninght and it set me wondering.
I’ve already learned that 00:00 and 24:00 are the same, except the former is the start of a new day and the latter the end of an old one, but this doesnt help me with my problem.
Any ideas?
New arrival..
Apr 6th
Just a quick note to say that Matthew Dixon arrived at 4:30am this morning weighing in at 9lb 4oz!
All doing well, and I will have some pics tonight on the gallery (left my camera at the hospital!)
So many places to keep ones life online..
Apr 5th
Now this is getting updated again, I thought I would share my increasing confusion of where exactly to put ones life on this crazy thing called the web.
I used to think that having your own web site with a few bits and pieces was cool, however then we started blogging and putting pictures online.
However, now it’s far too crazy. I’ve got a profile at myspace and facebook. A silly amount of email accounts including gmail, my own personal mail and my work mail. I’ve got a flikr type thing for photos as well as my gallery on this website.
My main issue with all of this is that it’s well confusing. If I dont have my facebook account then how can I socially interact and keep up with those who are on facebook. On the flip side there are some of my mates that are on myspace, but not on facebook so I must strive to keep that up to date as well.
Obviously some of these sites have cool features and can import my blog entries and even pictures but even with this it’s a bit of a maintenance nightmare!
If anyone has a solution or any suggestions to this then let me know!
Still waiting…
Apr 5th
Still waiting for our next child. It’s 10 days overdue and Emma is not all that happy about it. I took us all to Lancaster today on the train and we walked round for a few hours, hopefully that should do it. I’m planning on attending a wedding and being the DJ on Sat, so unless it pops tonight then that could be in danger. I’ve realised how infrequently I update this, so i’m going to turn over a new leaf (you’ve all heard that before) and keep it up to date. Hopefully I can start tomorrow with some good baby news!
I’ve also got my gallery back up and running on my new web host it’s got it’s own subdomain at gallery.chrisdixon.net
BTW, if anyone is looking for a good web host then my new one is ace and just £3.50 a month for 8 domains, 400GB space and loads of great features. The support is brilliant and the interface is easy to use. They are called ixwebhosting and you can find them here.
