1:1 Coaching

1:1 coaching is a powerful tool for change. Through structured conversations I will explore topics or issues with you to enable you to move forward in new directions. I provide 1:1 coaching either in person or over Skype.

Below you will find some examples of things that people use coaching to achieve. The list is not exhaustive, but it might give you some ideas..

Common Coaching Themes

Coaching can be used in a wide variety of situations, covering a number of different topics. Common themes include:

  • Learning a new skill - We work to recognise barriers to learning and check we are identifying the right skills
  • Solving issues - We explore the issue, why it might exist and how best to solve it
  • Making a decision - We explore what may be stopping a breakthrough being made, and why the decision may be hard
  • Recognise and change a behaviour - We explore how you may be percieved and how you precieve yourself as well as strategies to accept change
  • Become a more effective leader - We will explore what it means for you to be a leader, as well as what effectiveness means

What is coaching not?

Coaching is different to Counselling, which is professional guidance to resolve personal or psychological problems. Nor is it Mentoring, where the mentor acts as a guide to help the mentee find the right direction. In a mentoring relationship the mentor relies on having experienced similar issues or experiences to gain empathy and understand issues. Nor is coaching consultancy, where expert advice is brought to a specific business area.
